Bear Abiding Fruit

 A Tree is known by its Fruit

Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit (Matthew 7:17). Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit (Matthew 12:33). Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them (Matthew 7:20).

Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit
unless you remain in me.

John 15:4

No man [truly] making a profession of faith sinneth; nor does he that possesses love hate any one. The tree is made manifest by its fruit; so those that profess themselves to be Christians shall be recognized by their conduct. For there is not now a demand for mere profession, but that a man be found continuing in the power of faith to the end (St. Ignatius).

The world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides for ever (1 John 2:17).

But if any one has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth (1 John 3:17-18). Any one who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (1 John 3:15)

Life in the flesh means fruitful labor

To live is Christ, and to die is gain. If it is to be life in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better (Philippians 1:21-23) .
